What’s the gameplan..

Categories: General — Ankesh Kumar at 9:12 am

The idea came out of the belief that email was great for communication but not so great for collaboration. Specifically, the whole thread of communication is not easily available and one gets inbox overflow when the “reply all” spiral starts. The reason email still persists is it’s simplicity of use.
Our goal with Grouptivity was three fold: firstly, solve the problem of email as a collaboration tool, secondly, make it as simple as email to use and lastly add features that make it more relevant to the connected world we live in today

The list of features is pretty impressive, with the same effort of sending an email a user can create a private discussion space, control messages from that discussion, take content from websites to initiate discussions, or use templates, and last but certainly not least, it provides the user a view of their friends, Skype, Yahoo IM, Microsoft Messenger or AIM status. Some of the upcoming features are even more impressive, allowing Grouptivity to link into existing tools and content to make it the place for collaboration on the web.
