The Telegraph:
The Nashua Telegraph is a leading online publication with over 1 million page views and 150,000 unique visitors a month.
Objectives:
We are looking for ways to provide our readers with the tools to add context to the news stories they find on our site, to share and discuss them and to in effect become editors for their own constituencies – friends, families and extended social networks. We believe that by giving readers this tool we can help them remain engaged with the site invite other readers unfamiliar with us to engage with the site as well.
Why Grouptivity:
We chose Grouptivity because their concept for the tool was intriguing - it seems to bridge the gap for readers who may not be totally immersed in social networking tools but who could benefit from the efficiencies social-networking type tools could bring to a newspaper Web site – from the basic sharing of stories, to private comment boards, to bookmarking tools and more. Grouptivity did much of the heavy lifting and the setup was easy on our end.
Experience so far:
We are excited by the early results produced by this project. The number of reader interactions with our site and brand that were generated in the past by the simple email this article tool have been tripled – and we hope to see that number continue to grow as readers become more familiar with the new Email+ tool.
